Andrej Smirnov, Theremin Center Moscow


The Theremin Center for Electroacoustic Music was founded in Moscow in 1992 as a working environment for young musicians, composers, visual artists, programmers and engineers interested in applications of new technology in Sonic and Visual Arts, having uncommon creative ideas, integrating different professional skills in multimedia projects and cross-disciplinary research. It was a part of the Laboratory for Musical Acoustics and Sound Recording whose history is inextricably interwoven with the development of music and audio technology in Russia during the 20th Century. Since 2005 Theremin Center became a part of the Center for Electroacoustic Music at Moscow State Conservatory.
