Christian Wittmann, born in 1978, organ builder and organist. His area of specialization are self-playing organs (barrel organs, organettes), which includes both restoration work on old pieces, and design, development and prototyping of new barrel organs. The most complex musical instrument was the replica of a Wurlitzer Military Band Organ. Furthermore, he constructed music roll punching machines and a roll scanner. Among other things he wrote a paper Das Harmonium („The Reed Organ“, 1997), and publizised Ein Lesegerät für Drehorgelnotenrollen („A scanner for organ music rolls“, 2002, DAS MECHANISCHE MUSIKINSTRUMENT).
